Ham and Cheese Braid

ham and cheese braid using crescent rolls.

Ham & Cheese Braid

Last week I made this and it was a huge hit! We served it with homemade potato soup and they cleaned up every bite.  Next time I would line the pan because the cheese goes everywhere.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can crescent rolls
  • 1 1/3 cups sliced or chopped up ham (I cut mine into bite-sized chunks.)
  • 2/3 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup honey mustard

Directions:

  1. Roll out crescent rolls vertically on a baking sheet, do not separate.
  2. Seal all the perforations.
  3. Mix ham, cheese and mustard.
  4. Spread the mixture down the center of the crescent rolls.
  5. Cut (aprx.) 10 strips on each side of the dough.
  6. To braid, lift strips of dough across mixture to meet in center, twisting each strip on turn.
  7. Continue alternating strips to form a braid.
  8. Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes - until lightly browned.
